Upcoming Concert: Odell Opus 178 at St. Charles
On Saturday, November 6, at 7:00 PM the Church of St. Charles Borromeo will host its 3rd Annual Fall Concert. This year they will celebrate the 130th Anniversary of J.H. & C.S. Odell Opus 178, which was installed at St. Charles in 1880.
Former Chapter Dean (and current Newsletter Editor) Jonathan Hall will present an informative and enjoyable recital on the church’s historic Odell pipe organ. A respected performer and writer about the organ, Jonathan will present spoken program notes that will highlight the instrument in a special way. Please join us and invite your family and friends for what will surely be a delightful musical evening.
Tickets for the concert are $20 if purchased in advance, and $25 at the door. Friend ($50) and Patron ($100) tickets are also available. Friend and Patron ticket purchasers will be mentioned in the Concert Program. No tickets will be issued, names will be held at the door. Friends and family interested in purchasing tickets may send their request, together with payment, to the rectory.
A reception will follow the concert program.
50th Anniversary Events and Banquet
Dear Friends,
If you have been following your Bombarde in the early part of the year, you know that this is the 50th Anniversary year for the Brooklyn Chapter of the AGO. I am pleased to announce that your Board has decided to kick off the festivities by making September 11, 2010 our 50th Anniversary Day, with several opportunities for education, fun, reflection, and fellowship.
Following you will find a set of flyers outlining our planned activities for the day, which include:
- Bach to Brooklyn, with historian Andrew Dolkart leading us to churches in Bushwick and Clinton Hill. - a Service of Remembrance for 9/11, at St. Ann & the Holy Trinity Church - a Fall Banquet, at Eamonn’s in Brooklyn Heights (just down the street from St. Ann’s)Please look these flyers over. More information about our 50th Anniversary celebrations will come in the next issue of the Bombarde, which should be on its way to you shortly. In the meantime, I hope that many of you will be able to join us for some or all of our planned events on September 11. Please do not hesitate to let me or Sub-Dean Raymond Trapp know if you have any questions.
I wish all of you the very best for your coming year of music making, and hope that you will remember the Brooklyn Chapter as we celebrate 50 years in the AGO.
With all best wishes, Gregory Eaton Dean Download: 50th Anniversary Flyer

CORRECTION: June 13 End-of-Year Banquet
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
There was an unfortunate error in our previous announcement. The price for the banquet is $35.00 (THIRTY-FIVE DOLLARS), not twenty-five. The higher price is consistent with what was announced in the BOMBARDE and on the current program page.
Please note that the higher price is in effect.
We sincerely apologize for the error.

End of Year Banquet, June 13
Dear Brooklyn AGO Members,
This is a reminder of our upcoming End-of-Year Banquet on Sunday, June 13 at 5:30 pm at Eamonn’s. We are hoping to see many of you there for good food and even better fellowship.
In case you missed the announcement in the last Bombarde, I have attached a flyer which you may print out. It has all of the information on the banquet, plus a form which you may fill out and send to our Treasurer, Steve Danziger.
Please send in your reservation so that we receive it no later than Monday, June 7. We need to know how many we are expecting, so that we are prepared with food for everyone!
You will also find a link below to our ballot form. As stated before, you may print this out and either mail to me, or bring it with you to the banquet. I have only received 4 ballots so far, so I hope that means that many of you are coming to the banquet.
See you soon!
Gregory Eaton, Dean
