Brookln/Queens Second Annual Mini Convention 2008--a Ringing Success!



On King Day--January 21, 2008--the Brooklyn and Queens Chapters once again joined their redoubtable forces to present a lively and informative Mini-Convention.

Participants reveled in a day full of excellent performances, illuminating workshops, and excellent fellowship and food. This year's venue was an icy-cold Brooklyn Heights; we were headquartered at Saint Ann and the Holy Trinity AND, for the first time ever, Grace Church Brooklyn Heights!

The schedule was as follows:

9-9:30 AM, Welcome and Coffee at the Church of Saint Ann and the Holy Trinity, corner Clinton and Montague.

9:30-11 AM, Jewish organ music at Saint Ann's, Introduction to Messiaen at Grace, Joralemon and Hicks Streets.

11-11:30 Break and Coffee on your own as desired.

11:30-1 PM 20th Century Organ Music at St. Ann's, Service Playing at Grace.

1-2 PM Lunch on your own--there is a profusion of restaurants of every kind in the immediate vicinity.

2-3:30 PM Improvisation at St. Ann's, Anthems for Small Choirs at Grace

3:30-4 Break and Regroup

4-5 Closing Recital (Eaton, Hall, Knijff, Williams)
