 Job Opening Requirements

  1. Job postings should be as explicit as possible about requirements, compensation, and benefits, and should include the following:

    1. What is the number and time(s) of regular weekly services?

    2. What is the number and time(s) of rehearsals plus a description of the choirs and ensembles of each rehearsal?

    3. What is the base salary range or per-service rate?

    4. Is there additional compensation for funerals, weddings and additional seasonal liturgies (e.g. Triduum services, Christmas Eve services, First Holy Communion, May Crowning, etc.)?

    5. Does the position include benefits (e.g. health care, pension, paid vacation time, paid sick time, etc.)?

  2. Job postings should include a description of the instrument (e.g. manufacturer, date of installation, number of manuals and ranks, condition) plus any additional instruments that are regularly used in worship (e.g. drums, handbells, piano, etc.).

  3. Job postings should include the name and location of the church, the name of the pastor/hiring person and instructions for how to apply for the posted position, and the desired start date.
